Event Appearance
The Event Appearance panel in the timeline properties pane is used to adjust the default appearance of events in the timeline. Note that individual events can have their own custom appearances.
Background Color
The background color control affects the background of the event area (the area above the timeline).
Title
The title alignment control is used to affect the alignment of event titles with respect to their span line. The titles can be aligned left, right, or center.
The title font control allows you to choose a font (including color, shadow effects, etc.) for event titles using the standard OS X font panel.
Dateline
The show dateline control allows you to toggle the visibility of event datelines. Event datelines appear between the title and span line when active.

Span
The span color control affects event span line and caps.
The span cap style control allows you to specify the style of the start interval cap and the end interval cap (if visible). The available cap styles are round, square, oval, line, or none.
Descender
The show descender control allows you to toggle the visibility of event descender lines (lines descending from the start interval cap to the timeline below).
The descender color control affects event descenders if visible.
Notes
If you make a mistake, you can always undo!
